Today we’d like to introduce you to Lesibu Grand.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was born in Tuscaloosa, AL. My parents’ divorce led us to move closer to my mother’s good friend in metro-Atlanta when I was five years old. Moving here at such a young age has made me identify more with being a Georgia girl. I spent a lot of my time in Atlanta and I currently reside in the city so I definitely consider myself an ATLien. In some ways my upbringing was typical, but my extracurricular activities caused me to have unique musical tastes and influences. I was what they called an “Orch-Dork” (playing violin) and a cheerleader. Hanging out with that classical crowd caused me to have an open mind when it came to listening to new music. I was very open to different musical genres which would eventually lead me to attend the Pains of Being Pure at Heart concert at the Earl. There, I ran into John “Hutch” Renaud (an acquaintance at the time). Upon that encounter, we shortly realized our common interest in music and songwriting in general. We met over coffee to discuss our goals as artists and the stars seemed to align. We began writing together a few short months later and we haven’t stopped.
